About the Brighton Lacrosse Club
The game of Lacrosse was first played by the native tribes of North America as far back as the 17th Century.
Lacrosse made its debut in Australia in 1876 and is currently played in South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.
As of 2021 there are a total of 62 member nations of World Lacrosse. Lacrosse happens to be the national summer sport of Canada and is the fastest growing sport in the USA.
Brighton Lacrosse Club (BLC) was formed in 1929 at a tea shop on Old Beach Road opposite the original Brighton Railway Station.
Our original clubrooms consisted of a salvaged tin shed, over time our members fundraised to build something more substantial, which we then extended in several stages over the decades.
From humble beginnings we have built our club on a foundation of teamwork, dedication, and pride.
We are incredibly proud to call ourselves “Brighton Bombers”.
